In Case of Emergency ICE Feature

Through integration with other providers, data in electronic health records outside of MediKeeper can be uploaded and stored enabling the individual to have complete access to their entire health record in one location. The PHR then becomes a Mobile PHR as it is accessible from any location or device with online access including cell phones. The mobility of MediKeeper’s Personal Health Record is evident in the In Case of Emergency (ICE) feature. During an emergency an individual can call the toll free number listed on their MediKard, a wallet –sized information card, and have their PHR faxed to a fax number of their choosing. This secure authentication process also works in the event the individual is unable to request their heath record on their own. In this scenario an ICE PHR is sent to medical professionals providing a brief snap shot of the individual’s important medical history while omitting unnecessary personal information. The ability to get an individual’s health record immediately at a time in need reduces medical errors, cuts costs, and enhances overall wellness.
